Prevent Unwanted Charcoal Production in Your Base
Protect Wooden Structures from Fire
If you want to avoid accidental charcoal drops and wood loss, take preventive measures against fire spread.
1. Keep flammable materials away from lava and fire sources
2. Use non-flammable blocks (stone, brick, concrete) for structures near hazards
3. Clear vegetation around your base to prevent wildfire spread
4. Avoid using fire-based lighting (campfires, fire blocks) near wooden buildings
5. Use water moats or firebreaks as defensive barriers
Fire Safety Best Practices
While charcoal production is beneficial in controlled settings, uncontrolled fires can still damage your builds. Even with charcoal drops, losing wooden structures is inconvenient. Keep nether portals and lava pools isolated from your main base, and use stone or other fire-resistant materials for critical infrastructure.
If lightning strikes your wooden roof, the mod will convert some logs to charcoal, but prevention is easier than cleanup. Maintain clear zones between your base and any fire hazards.
