Rename a Mob Without an Anvil

Quick Renaming on the Go

The Name Tag Upgrade Mod lets you rename any mob instantly without needing an anvil or experience levels.

Steps:

1. Hold a name tag in your hand

2. Right-click on the mob you want to rename

3. A text input screen will appear

4. Type your desired name into the field

5. Confirm your entry

6. The mob's name will update immediately

Applying Text Formatting

You can make mob names colorful and stylized using formatting codes:

• Use &c for red, &a for green, &b for cyan, and other color codes
• Add &l for bold text
• Use &o for italic formatting
• Combine multiple codes in one name (example: &l&c&nBoss creates a bold red underlined name)

Simply include these codes when typing your name in the input screen. The formatting will apply automatically when you confirm.

Preventing Accidental Waste

If you try to apply the exact same name a mob already has, the mod will reject the change and return your name tag to your inventory. This prevents losing items on duplicate renames.
