Obtain and Use Another Player's Cape

Using /getcape

The /getcape command retrieves the cape texture from any player who has one equipped. Capes are cosmetic items that drape from a player's shoulders.

Steps

1. Open chat

2. Type /getcape <username> for the player whose cape you want

3. Press Enter

The mod downloads the cape file and stores it locally. Not all players have capes—only those who have obtained them through Minecraft realms, special events, or mods will have one to retrieve.

Important Notes

• If a player has no cape, the command will indicate this
• Downloaded capes are texture files; applying them typically requires a mod that supports custom capes
• The vanilla Minecraft launcher does not support custom cape installation
• Capes obtained this way are for personal use only and remain client-side cosmetics
