Get a Player's UUID for Server Administration

Using /getuuid

The /getuuid command instantly retrieves the unique identifier (UUID) for any player. UUIDs are essential for server administration, ban lists, and permission systems.

Steps

1. Open chat

2. Type /getuuid <username> using the player's current username

3. Press Enter

The mod displays the player's UUID in a copyable format. You can then use this UUID in server commands, configuration files, or administrative tools.

Why This Matters

  • UUIDs remain constant even if a player changes their username
  • Server bans and whitelists typically use UUIDs to prevent ban evasion
  • Permission plugins often require UUIDs for accurate player identification
  • Useful when a player's username contains special characters or spaces that complicate commands
