Mythic Fossil Fusions Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with Mythic Fossil Fusions?
First, locate a Cobblemon Fossil Machine in your world or craft one if available. Choose a hybrid creature you want to revive, gather its three required recipe ingredients, and place them in the machine. Once processing completes, your new mythic companion will be ready to catch and train.
Where do I find the recipe ingredients for specific hybrids?
Recipe ingredients are everyday items, stones, and bones found throughout the world—check the mod's creature guide or wiki page for your chosen hybrid to see its exact three required items. Some ingredients may come from mining, crafting, or looting structures.
Can I ride all the hybrid creatures or only some?
Only certain hybrids like Fallowisp, Housoup, and Flufaxe can serve as rideable mounts. Other creatures such as Romanticourt and Abductour can be worn as hats or carried on your shoulder instead.
How do I evolve my hybrid if it doesn't level up?
Different hybrids evolve through different methods: some need high friendship, others require evolution stones (Fire, Water, Thunder, or Sun), and a few need special interactions like using Moonlight repeatedly or applying bone meal. Check your creature's evolution requirements in the guide.
What does it mean when a hybrid has a 'special interaction'?
Special interactions are unique actions you can perform with compatible hybrids—for example, Housoup fills bowls with soup, Sheetee provides sweets, Mermadame lets you brush her hair, and Flufaxe changes its axe blade when given metal ingots. Each hybrid has its own set of interactions.
How do I change the color of Abductour or customize Flufaxe's axe?
Give Abductour blue, green, yellow, purple, or pink dyes to change its color. For Flufaxe, provide different metal ingots to swap its axe blade material—experiment with the ingots you have available.
What are the ruined lab structures and why should I explore them?
Ruined lab structures (called SbH structures) are scattered across the world and are connected to the mythical Storytella. They contain loot and trigger special evolution events—for instance, reaching level 12 near these structures can evolve Spewpa into Storybook Vivillon.
Do I need to do anything special to make my hybrid grow with bone meal?
Hybrids like Nobiseen and Rooticious will grow and react when you feed them bone meal. Simply use bone meal on them as you would with regular plants to see their response.
Can I use these hybrids in battle like normal Cobblemon creatures?
Yes—once revived from the Fossil Machine, mythic hybrids function as full Cobblemon creatures and can be caught, trained, leveled up, and used in battles just like any other Pokémon-style monster in the mod.
What happens if I don't have all three ingredients for a hybrid?
The Fossil Machine won't process without all three required ingredients, so you'll need to gather them before attempting to revive that hybrid. Return to the machine once you have everything collected.
