How to Use Music Sheets to Play Songs Automatically
What Music Sheets Do
A Music Sheet stores a sequence of notes and instrument assignments. When placed or activated near instruments (or played through a Music Box), it performs the song for you, so you don't have to click every note.
Writing a Sheet
1. Craft a Music Sheet.
2. Open it to reach the editor. You'll see a grid of time steps and pitch rows.
3. Place notes on the grid. Each column is a moment in time; each row is a pitch.
4. Assign which instrument plays each track if the sheet supports multiple parts.
5. Set the tempo so the playback speed matches your intent.
6. Save the sheet.
Playing a Sheet
- Put the sheet into a Music Box or hold it and activate it near your instruments.
- Instruments in range will play their assigned parts.
- Use the Metronome to check that your tempo matches what you wrote.
Tips
- Start with a single instrument track, then add layers.
- Keep note spacing consistent; irregular spacing is the most common cause of a song sounding off.
- Copy a working sheet and edit it to build variations quickly.
