How to Import MIDI Files into Music Maker
Why MIDI Matters
MIDI files store notes, timing, and instrument channels rather than recorded audio. Music Maker can convert a MIDI file into a Music Sheet so existing songs play in-game without manual note entry.
Import Steps
1. Locate the mod's folder inside your Minecraft instance directory. It typically contains a subfolder for music or sheets.
2. Drop your .mid file into that folder.
3. In-game, open the Music Sheet editor or the import screen (usually reachable from the sheet item or a related block).
4. Select the MIDI file from the list.
5. Choose how channels map to instruments. A General MIDI file may use many channels; assign each to an instrument you have.
6. Confirm the import. The mod generates a Music Sheet you can save and play.
Fixing Common Issues
- Silent tracks: the channel was mapped to an instrument you don't have nearby. Reassign it.
- Wrong tempo: adjust the sheet's tempo after import.
- Too many notes: simplify by removing percussion or harmony channels.
Tips
- Test with a short MIDI first to confirm your folder path and mapping.
- Keep filenames simple; special characters can break detection.
