Mushrooms Plus Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything special to see the 3D mushrooms after installing the pack?
No, the 3D mushrooms appear automatically once the resource pack is activated in your world settings. Simply enable it in your resource packs menu and the Red, Brown, Warped, and Crimson mushrooms will display with their new models.
Will the 3D mushrooms work in my existing world or do I need a new one?
The pack works in both existing and new worlds—it only changes how mushrooms look visually, not the world data itself. You can activate it on a world you've already been playing and the mushrooms will immediately update their appearance.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, but resource pack order matters. If another pack also modifies mushroom textures, whichever pack is higher in your resource pack list will take priority. You may need to adjust the order to get the look you want.
Do the 3D mushrooms affect my FPS or cause lag?
The 3D models are optimized and shouldn't cause noticeable performance issues on most systems, though heavily modded setups with many resource packs may see minor impact. If you experience lag, try disabling other visual packs or lowering your render distance.
Will the enhanced mushrooms work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use this pack on any server without needing admin permission or affecting other players. Only you will see the 3D mushrooms.
Are the mushroom blocks themselves different, or just how they look?
Only the appearance changes—the blocks function identically to vanilla mushrooms. They still grow the same way, drop the same items, and work in all the same recipes.
Do the 3D models work for mushrooms growing on mushroom islands?
Yes, all naturally generated Red and Brown mushrooms on mushroom islands will display as 3D models. This makes mushroom islands noticeably more visually detailed and atmospheric.
What about mushrooms I place myself or grow from spores?
All mushrooms, whether naturally generated or player-placed, will use the 3D models from this pack. Mushrooms grown from spores will also display with the enhanced appearance.
Does this pack change anything in the Nether besides Warped and Crimson Fungi?
No, only Warped and Crimson Fungi receive 3D models. Other Nether blocks and features remain unchanged.
Can I disable the 3D models for specific mushroom types if I don't like them all?
Standard resource packs don't allow selective disabling of individual blocks, but you could create a custom version by editing the pack files if you have experience with resource pack structure. Otherwise, it's all-or-nothing with this pack.
