How to Change a World's Game Mode, Difficulty, and PvP
Adjusting World Rules
Multiverse-Core lets each world run its own rules independent of the others. The command pattern is /mv modify <world> set <property> <value>. Common properties include gamemode (creative, survival, adventure, spectator), difficulty (peaceful, easy, normal, hard), and pvp (true or false). For example, /mv modify skyblock set gamemode creative makes that world creative-only, while /mv modify arena set pvp true enables player combat there.
You can also toggle animals and monsters spawning per world, which is useful for lobby or parkour maps where you do not want mobs wandering in.
Applying and Checking Changes
Changes take effect immediately for players already in the world, though some clients may need a moment to sync. Run /mv info <world> to see the current settings for a world and confirm your edits landed. If you want to apply a setting to every world at once, some properties accept a wildcard or you can script the commands. Note that gamemode changes made through Multiverse override the server default for that world only, so a survival world stays survival even if the main server is creative.
