MTR Metro Network Map FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get trains to actually move on my tracks?
Trains require a properly configured route with defined stations and schedules. Make sure your track is connected to a metro line, stations are placed at the correct positions along the route, and the line has an active schedule set in its configuration.
Why won't my train stop at the station I built?
Check that your station platform is aligned with the track and positioned at the exact stop location the route expects. The station block must be placed on the correct side of the track, and the route configuration needs to include that station as a designated stop.
Can I ride trains in Creative mode?
Yes, you can board and ride trains in any game mode. Simply wait on a platform for a train to arrive, then right-click or interact with the train cart to enter and take a seat.
What happens if I break track while a train is using it?
Breaking track mid-route will cause the train to stop and potentially derail or get stuck. Always plan your modifications during times when trains aren't actively running on that section, or temporarily disable the route.
How do I connect multiple separate metro lines together?
Different lines can share track sections if their routes are configured to use the same physical tracks at certain points. Set up junction areas where tracks merge, then ensure each line's route definition includes those shared segments with proper stop ordering.
Do trains cause lag or performance issues?
A reasonable number of trains running on established routes typically has minimal impact, but excessive trains or overly complex routes with many stops can affect performance depending on your system. Monitor your frame rate and reduce active trains if needed.
Can I make trains stop for a specific amount of time at each station?
Yes, station dwell time can be configured in the route settings so trains pause at each stop before departing. This allows passengers time to board and exit realistically.
What's the difference between a station platform and a regular platform block?
A station platform is a specially designated block that tells the metro system where trains should stop and allows passengers to board. Regular blocks won't trigger train stops, so you must use the proper station block type.
How do I remove or edit a route after I've created it?
Access the route configuration through the appropriate interface or command system for your mod version. You can modify stop positions, schedules, and train assignments without rebuilding the entire track.
Can passengers get stuck on trains or fall off during travel?
Passengers seated in train carts remain secure during travel and won't fall off. If you exit the train while it's moving, you'll be ejected and take fall damage depending on the train's speed.
