How to Craft and Use Chairs, Tables, and Desks

Crafting the basics

Every wood variant follows the same pattern, so once you learn one you can make them all. Chairs are built from planks and sticks in a small shape, tables use planks arranged in a flat top with legs, and desks are a wider variant of the table with a storage-friendly top. Swap the plank type to change the wood variant — oak planks give oak furniture, birch planks give birch, and so on.

Placing and sitting

Place a chair on any solid block and right-click it to sit down. Press sneak to stand back up. Tables and desks are decorative but pair well with chairs — put a chair on each side of a table for a dining set, or place a desk against a wall with a chair in front for a study. Desks and tables connect visually when placed side by side, so line several up to make a long counter or workbench row.

Matching a room

Keep the wood type consistent within a room for a clean look, or mix two variants (like oak and dark oak) for contrast. Chairs, tables, and desks all share the same wood palette as the rest of the mod, so they match cabinets, crates, and kitchen blocks made from the same planks.
