Mount Opacity Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I make a mob transparent when I'm riding it?
Open the Mount Opacity config file and locate the mob you want to adjust. Change its opacity value to a lower number (closer to 0 makes it more transparent, closer to 1 keeps it opaque). Save the file and the changes will apply the next time you ride that mob.
Can I make all my mounts transparent at once?
Yes. In the config file, you can set a global opacity value that applies to all rideable mobs at once, or you can individually adjust each mob type if you prefer different transparency levels for horses versus pigs, for example.
What mobs does this mod work with?
Mount Opacity Mod works with all rideable mobs in Minecraft, including horses, pigs, striders, camels, and any rideable mobs added by other mods, as long as those mods are compatible.
How do I undo changes and make a mob fully visible again?
Open the config file and set that mob's opacity value back to its maximum (usually 1 or 100%, depending on how the mod displays it). Save the file and the mob will return to normal opacity.
Where is the config file located?
The Mount Opacity config file is typically found in your Minecraft config folder. Check your game directory under `.minecraft/config/` or look for a Mount Opacity-specific folder there.
Do I need to restart Minecraft for opacity changes to take effect?
Most config changes require you to reload your world or restart Minecraft to apply. Some versions may support hot-reloading, but restarting is the safest way to ensure changes work.
Will this mod work with mods that add new rideable mobs?
Yes, Mount Opacity Mod is compatible with most mods that add rideable mobs. You can add those new mobs to the config file and adjust their opacity the same way you would for vanilla mobs.
Can I set different opacity levels for different mobs?
Yes, that's one of the main features. You can adjust the opacity of each rideable mob individually in the config file, so horses can be semi-transparent while pigs remain fully opaque, for example.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
Mount Opacity Mod has minimal performance impact since it only adjusts the rendering of mobs you're actively riding. It should not cause noticeable lag on most systems.
What happens if I set opacity to 0—will the mob disappear completely?
Setting opacity to 0 will make the mob nearly invisible, though you may still see its name tag or hitbox. Most players prefer a low but non-zero value so they can still see the mob slightly while maintaining a clear view.
