Morphling Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I transform into a mob for the first time?
Open your transformation menu (default key varies by setup) and select a mob from the list. Once you transform, your player model, size, and hitbox change to match that creature. Your chosen form is saved to that world, so it persists when you rejoin.
Can I use mob abilities in survival mode?
Yes, special abilities work in all game modes. Press the designated ability key (usually a configurable hotkey) while transformed to use powers like creeper explosions, enderman teleportation, or parrot flight.
Do I keep my inventory when I transform?
Your inventory stays with you, but you cannot access it while transformed into most mobs. Switch back to your player form to use items and equipment.
Why can't I fit through doors or small spaces as a large mob?
Your hitbox becomes the actual size of the mob you transform into, so large creatures like iron golems cannot squeeze through small openings. Transform into a smaller mob like a chicken or bee to navigate tight spaces.
What happens if I transform into an enderman in water?
Endermen take damage in water just like in normal Minecraft, so you will be hurt if you enter water while transformed. Avoid water or switch to a water-safe form like an axolotl or frog.
Can I change the color or style of my mob form?
Yes, the palette menu lets you select different visual variants for certain mobs. Access this menu while transformed to customize colors and patterns without changing your actual mob type.
Do other players see me transformed on a multiplayer server?
Yes, other players see your transformed appearance, hear your mob sounds, and see your mob-sized hitbox. Your transformation is visible to everyone on the server.
Can I fly as mobs other than parrots?
Parrots have free flight, while bees can fly and hover but with different mechanics. Chickens glide slowly instead of flying. Other mobs cannot fly.
What should I do if my form resets when I log out?
Forms are saved per world, so check that you are in the correct world file. If the issue persists, verify the mod is fully loaded and your world save is not corrupted.
Does transforming affect my hunger or health bar?
Your hunger and health persist when you transform, but some mobs have special interactions—sheep and horses can eat grass to restore hunger, and iron golems show visual cracks as they take damage.
