How to Use the Purpur Altar and Decayed Workbench

Purpur Altar Basics

The Purpur Altar is one of the more unusual workstation blocks in More Villagers. Place it like any other job site block and an unemployed villager will adopt the associated profession. Because it uses purpur as its base material, it fits naturally into End-themed builds or a dedicated trading hall. Treat it as you would any other workstation: one block, one villager, and trades that level up as you use them.

Decayed Workbench Basics

The Decayed Workbench follows the same rules — place it, let a villager claim it, and trade to level them up. Its decayed aesthetic makes it a good fit for swamp, dungeon, or ruined-village themed builds. If you're decorating a base around a specific biome, matching the workstation to the surroundings keeps your trading hall from looking out of place.

Common Mistakes

  • Don't place two workstations next to one villager and expect a specific job — they'll pick whichever they path to first.
  • Don't break the block after locking in trades unless you're willing to reroll.
  • Keep the workstation chunk loaded if you want restocking to happen while you're away.
