More Radical Trainers SV Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start the Sinnoh Gym Challenge?
Defeat the prerequisite trainer groups the pack requires, then challenge the first Sinnoh Gym Leader to open the challenge chain. Once you're in, the Sinnoh Gym Challenge is the part of the pack that runs as double battles, so bring a partner team.
Why are my Sinnoh Gym battles double battles instead of singles?
That's intentional — the pack adds double battles specifically for the Sinnoh Gym Challenge. You need two Pokémon able to fight at once, so don't enter with only one healthy team member.
Where do I find Team Aqua members?
Team Aqua members spawn in the Overworld as part of this pack's trainer placement. Explore the surface and coastal areas and look for their trainer NPCs to start the battles.
Where is Team Magma? I can't find them anywhere.
Team Magma is hidden down in the Nether, not the Overworld. Head through a portal and search the Nether for their trainers.
How do I beat the Kalos Gym Leaders' Mega Evolutions?
The Kalos Gym Leaders use high-level teams with Mega Evolution, so bring your own Mega-capable Pokémon and a counter to their ace's typing. Don't try to brute-force them with an underleveled team — their stats are maxed.
How do I unlock the Elite Four?
You unlock the Elite Four by beating the trainer groups that gate them, which the pack ties to its unlock system. Clear the earlier leagues and gym challenges first, then the Elite Four becomes available.
What are the Starter Challenges and how do I unlock new heroes?
The Starter Challenges are fights against characters from the Pokémon Adventures manga. Winning them unlocks new heroes you can then use or challenge, so treat each win as a key to the next one.
Why are these battles so hard compared to normal Cobblemon trainers?
Every enemy Pokémon in this pack has max EVs and IVs, which the pack describes as medium to hard difficulty. You're expected to bring properly trained, EV'd Pokémon rather than freshly caught ones.
Do I need the Radical Cobblemon Trainers mod for this to work?
Yes — this is a data pack for the Radical Cobblemon Trainers mod, so it won't do anything on its own. Make sure the base mod is installed and loaded before expecting the new battles to appear.
Will this pack cause lag or performance problems on my server?
It's a data pack that adds trainer battles and NPC placements rather than heavy world generation, so performance impact is usually small. If you notice lag, it's more likely from the number of loaded trainer NPCs in an area than from the pack itself.
