Working With Mods That Add Custom Mobs With Hitboxes

Compatibility With Content Mods

More Hitboxes Mod is a library—it doesn't add mobs itself. Other mods use it to create creatures with detailed, multi-part hitboxes.

Finding Mobs With Multiple Hitboxes

1. Install a content mod that's built to use More Hitboxes (check the mod's description or dependencies)

2. Spawn or encounter the custom mobs in your world

3. Attack them normally—the multiple hitboxes work automatically

What to Expect

Mobs designed with this system will:

  • Feel more alive during combat with distinct body parts to target
  • Have animated hitboxes that follow their movements and attacks
  • Potentially have special mechanics tied to different body parts (weak points, armor, etc.)

Mod Combinations

More Hitboxes works best alongside mods that use GeckoLib animations, as this allows hitboxes to sync perfectly with mob movements. Check if your favorite creature mods list More Hitboxes as a dependency or recommended mod.

The better the animations, the more responsive and satisfying the combat becomes.
