Understanding Multiple Hitboxes on Mobs
What Are Multiple Hitboxes?
More Hitboxes Mod allows creatures to have several distinct hit areas instead of one single box around their entire body. Each hitbox can represent a different part—head, torso, legs, tail, or arms—making combat feel more realistic and tactical.
How to Identify Them in Combat
When you attack a mob with this mod installed, you'll notice:
- Separate hit zones: Striking a mob's head may deal different damage or effects than hitting its body
- Visual feedback: Hitboxes are often visible as colored outlines when you look closely at mobs
- Animation-linked movement: If a mob raises its arm or turns its head, those hitboxes move with it
Why This Matters
Mobs become more challenging and rewarding to fight. You can target specific weak points or avoid certain dangerous areas. Some mods may make headshots more effective, or certain body parts may have special properties like armor or resistance.
This system only works if the mob was designed by another mod to use multiple hitboxes—vanilla mobs won't have this feature unless a content mod adds it.
