Gather Wood and Craft Early

On your first day, collect wooden planks from any tree—just five planks total.

Craft at the Workbench

Open your crafting table and arrange five wooden planks in a V-shape: place planks in the left and right columns of the top two rows, leaving the center empty. This creates your first wooden bucket with 16 uses.

What You Can Do Now

Your wooden bucket works immediately for:

• Collecting water from any source block
• Milking cows for milk
• Storing liquids in your inventory

Note that wooden buckets cannot hold lava or powder snow—these require better materials. Each use of your wooden bucket (filling or emptying) consumes one durability point, so you get 16 total operations before it breaks.

Upgrade Path

Once you've gathered bamboo or copper ore, you can craft upgraded buckets with better durability and stacking. Keep your wooden bucket as a backup or repair it with additional planks when durability runs low.
