More Apples Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to do anything to activate the mod after installing it?
No, the data pack works automatically once installed. Simply load a world and start breaking leaves—all leaf types will immediately have double apple drop rates.
Does this work on leaves I've already broken, or only new ones?
The increased drop rates apply to all leaves you break going forward. Previously broken leaves won't retroactively drop more apples, but any new tree you chop will benefit from the doubled rates.
Which leaf types get the apple boost?
All leaf types in the game are affected: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, azalea, and flowering azalea leaves all drop apples at double the vanilla oak rate.
Can I use this on a server with other players?
Yes, data packs work on multiplayer servers. Install it on the server side and all players will see the increased apple drops without needing anything installed locally.
Does this affect saplings or wood drops, or just apples?
Only apple drop rates are modified. Sapling and wood drops remain unchanged from vanilla.
Will this mod conflict with other data packs that modify loot tables?
Potentially yes—if another data pack also modifies leaf loot tables, you may experience conflicts depending on load order. Check your data pack documentation or test both together in a test world first.
Is there a way to turn off the mod without uninstalling it?
You can disable the data pack through the world settings menu without removing the files, then re-enable it whenever you want.
Does this work in the Nether or End?
No, there are no leaves in the Nether or End, so the mod has no effect in those dimensions. It only applies to leaves found in the Overworld.
How much faster can I farm apples with this compared to vanilla?
Since all leaf types now drop apples at double the vanilla oak rate, you'll gather apples roughly twice as quickly when chopping trees, making golden apple crafting much less grindy.
Does this affect Fortune enchantment or other drop-boosting mechanics?
The mod doubles the base drop rate, and Fortune enchantment stacks on top of that, so you can combine them for even higher apple yields.
