How to Find Mooshrooms Without Traveling to a Mushroom Island

Normally mooshrooms only exist on mushroom fields, which are rare and often thousands of blocks from spawn. This mod removes that restriction, so you can hunt them close to home.

Where to Look

Because the mod lets mooshrooms replace cows anywhere cows spawn, any biome that supports cows is now a valid hunting ground. Prioritize:

• Plains and sunflower plains, which have wide open grass and dense passive mob spawns.
• Forests and flower forests, where cows spawn among the trees.
• Meadows and other grassy overworld biomes.

Mushroom fields still work too, but you no longer need them.

2. Walk or fly across open grass at a steady pace rather than standing still; new mobs only spawn in chunks outside your immediate view.

3. Light up or clear an area you've already checked so fresh spawns appear there instead of in caves.

4. Bring a lead and wheat. Once you spot a mooshroom, lead it home or lure it with wheat, since mooshrooms follow wheat like cows do.

If you find none after a long sweep, the spawn chance may simply be set low in the config — check that value before assuming the mod isn't working.
