How do I make mooshrooms spawn in my world?
Install the mod and they'll start replacing cows automatically wherever cows normally spawn. No setup is needed beyond having the mod loaded, though you can tweak the spawn chance in the config if you want more or fewer.
Why aren't any mooshrooms spawning in my world?
The default spawn chance is low (1 in 20 cows), so you may just need to wait or explore more. Also check your config file to make sure chanceCowIsMooshroom hasn't been set to 0, and confirm you're in a biome where cows normally spawn.
What is the default mooshroom spawn chance?
The default is 1 in 20, which corresponds to a chanceCowIsMooshroom value of 0.05 in the config. You can raise or lower this between 0 and 1.0 to control how common mooshrooms are.
Where can mooshrooms spawn with this mod?
Anywhere cows normally spawn, including plains, forests, and other cow-friendly biomes. You no longer need to travel to a mushroom island to find them.
Do mooshrooms replace cows entirely or just some of them?
They only replace a portion of cow spawns based on the configured chance. Most cows will still be normal cows unless you set the chance very high.
Can I still get mooshrooms from mushroom islands with this mod?
Yes, mushroom islands still spawn mooshrooms as they normally do. This mod just adds an additional chance for them to appear elsewhere in place of cows.
How do I get mushroom stew from a mooshroom?
Use a bowl on a mooshroom the same way you would in vanilla. The mooshroom gives you mushroom stew, and you can repeat this as long as you have bowls.
Can I milk a mooshroom for milk?
Yes, mooshrooms can be milked with a bucket just like regular cows. You'll get a bucket of milk, not mushroom stew, when using a bucket.
Will this mod conflict with other mob or spawn mods?
It generally works alongside other mods, but mods that heavily rewrite cow spawning or mob spawn tables may override or conflict with it. If mooshrooms stop appearing, check whether another spawn mod is taking priority.
Does this mod affect performance or lag?
No, it only changes which mob spawns in place of a cow, so there's no meaningful performance impact. The number of entities in your world stays the same.
