What is the minimum distance you need to run to escape the Mooseman?
You must get at least 120 blocks away from the Mooseman to lose its trail.
Why is hiding inside your base not a safe strategy?
The Mooseman can open closed doors and walk directly into your house, so indoor hiding will not protect you.
