Enable Shaders for the First Time

Prerequisites

Before you can use shaders, confirm that you have installed:

  • Embeddium (the rendering engine)
  • Iris (the shader system)
  • Monocle Mod itself

All three must be present in your mods folder for shaders to work.

Activating Shaders

1. Launch Minecraft and enter a world or the main menu

2. Open Options (Settings)

3. Look for the Shader Packs button—this appears only when Monocle Mod is active

4. Click Shader Packs to open the shader selection screen

5. You'll see a list of installed shader packs in your shaderpacks folder

6. Select a shader pack from the list

7. Click the checkmark or confirm button to enable it

8. The shader will load immediately; you may see a brief pause as it compiles

Troubleshooting

If you don't see the Shader Packs button, verify all three mods are installed and there are no mod conflicts. If shaders don't apply, check that your graphics card supports the shader features being used.
