How to Enable or Disable Tooltips on Game Mode Buttons
What the Tooltips Do
Modern World Creation can show tooltips and extra information when you hover over the game mode buttons on the world creation screen. This is handy if you are unsure what a mode does — for example, the difference between Hardcore and regular Survival — or if you simply want a cleaner, icon-only menu with no hover text at all.
Toggling Tooltips and Info Displays
1. Quit Minecraft fully. The mod reads its config only at startup.
2. Open .minecraft/config/modernworldcreation/config.cfg with a plain text editor.
3. Find the entries for tooltips and for the game mode button information display. They are separate toggles, so you can have hover tooltips without the extra info text, or vice versa.
4. Set each one to your preference using the on/off values already present in the file.
5. Save and relaunch.
Verifying and Troubleshooting
Hover each game mode button on the world creation screen. If tooltips still appear after you disabled them, confirm you edited the config for the correct game instance — separate launcher profiles each have their own .minecraft folder. If nothing changed at all, the mod may not be loading for that profile. Since all of these options are client-side, they affect only your own menu and never change how a world actually plays or how other players see it.
