Play on a Server with Modern Beta Terrain

Server-Side Compatibility

Modern Beta Mod supports server-side installation, meaning the server can run the mod to generate classic terrain for all players. Clients connecting to the server do not need to install the mod—they'll receive the terrain normally.

Setting Up a Server

Install Modern Beta Mod on your server files just as you would on a single-player installation. When the server starts, configure the world generator in the server properties or world settings to use your chosen classic generator (Beta 1.7.3, Alpha, Infdev, etc.).

Client Experience

Players joining your server will see the classic terrain without needing any mods installed. However, if clients want to experience the visual enhancements—Beta sky colors, biome colors, and fog effects—they can install the mod on their own client. The mod is designed so that clients with and without it can play together seamlessly.
