Enable Classic Beta Sky and Fog Colors

Accessing Video Settings

Open your Video Settings from the main menu or pause screen. Look for options added by Modern Beta Mod—these appear as separate toggles rather than modifications to existing settings.

Enabling Beta Visuals

You'll find several client-side rendering options:

  • Beta Sky/Fog Colors: Enables the distinctive deep blue and purple skies from Beta-era Minecraft
  • Beta Biome Colors: Applies classic biome color palettes, making grass, water, and foliage match the original aesthetic
  • Old Fog Colors: Uses the fog rendering from older versions for a different atmospheric feel
  • Disable Sunset Colors: Removes the orange/red sunset tint if you prefer the cleaner sky

Applying Changes

These options take effect immediately—no world restart needed. You can toggle them on and off to compare the visual difference. Combining Beta sky colors with Beta biome colors creates the most authentic classic experience.

For maximum immersion, enable the version display option to see which Minecraft version's generation you're currently playing in, shown in the top-left corner of your screen.
