Create a World with Beta 1.7.3 Terrain Generation

Setting Up Your World

When creating a new world, you'll see chunk generator options in the world creation menu. Select Beta 1.7.3 from the available generators to recreate classic Minecraft terrain from that era.

What to Expect

Beta 1.7.3 generation produces the iconic terrain many players remember: rolling hills, frequent caves, and distinctive biome layouts. You'll notice:

  • Taller grass and different grass colors compared to modern Minecraft
  • Biome transitions that feel more gradual and natural
  • Different ore distribution and cave generation patterns
  • The characteristic deep blue and purple sky (if you enable client-side Beta sky rendering in your video settings)

Customization

After selecting the generator, you can adjust world settings like difficulty and PvP. The terrain generation itself uses the mod's built-in Beta 1.7.3 parameters—no additional configuration is needed unless you want to tweak client-side rendering options for colors and fog effects.

Start exploring and you'll immediately notice how different the world feels compared to modern Minecraft generation!
