Troubleshooting: Gaps Still Visible After Installing Model Gap Fix

First Checks

If you installed the mod and still see gaps, work through these before assuming a bug.

1. Confirm the mod is actually loaded. Check your mod list in-game and make sure it appears and is enabled.

2. Confirm you are on the client. This mod does nothing on a server and does not need to be installed there.

3. Reload resources with F3+T after any change to packs or mods.

4. Restart the game fully rather than only reloading, since model baking happens at startup.

Common Causes

  • Resource packs with custom models. Packs that replace block or item geometry can bypass the fix. Test with packs disabled.
  • Other rendering mods. Mods that also touch model baking or texture atlases may conflict. Try disabling them one at a time.
  • Modded blocks and items. Content from other mods may use custom renderers that the mod cannot patch. Gaps on those specific blocks are expected.
  • Shaders. As covered elsewhere, shader packs can reintroduce seams through their own face handling.

What Not to Expect

The mod fixes the vanilla corner-gap bug. It is not a general-purpose model repair tool and will not fix gaps caused by a pack author drawing textures with transparent edges. If a texture itself has empty pixels at its border, no mod can close that gap — the texture needs to be redrawn.
