Making Model Gap Fix Work With Shaders and Resource Packs

Load Order and Compatibility

Model Gap Fix changes how model faces sample their textures. Shader packs and resource packs can also change model rendering, so conflicts are possible. The mod is designed to be lightweight and generally plays well with others, but you should test in this order.

Testing Steps

1. Start with only Model Gap Fix enabled — no shaders, no resource packs. Confirm block and item seams are gone.

2. Add your resource pack back and reload textures with F3+T. Look at the same blocks you tested before.

3. If gaps return, the pack is supplying custom models. Try a different pack or check whether the pack author has updated it.

4. Enable your shader pack last. Shaders that alter face culling, ambient occlusion, or normal mapping can make seams visible again even when the geometry is correct.

5. If a specific shader reintroduces gaps, try toggling that pack's ambient occlusion or its own model-related options in its settings menu.

When to Report a Conflict

If gaps appear only with one specific combination of shader plus resource pack, note which two are involved. Isolating the pair makes it far easier to tell whether the mod, the pack, or the shader is responsible. Do not assume the mod is broken just because a heavily customized pack changes model geometry.
