Fixing Gaps on 2D Item Models (Items in Inventory and Hand)

Why Items Are Different

Block models are made of full cube faces, so removing texture zoom fixes them completely. Item models are built differently — many are flat 2D sprites generated quad by quad, and simply removing the zoom creates a new kind of tiny gap between those quads. Model Gap Fix handles this with a separate approach for 2D item models, so you should not need to do anything extra.

What to Check If Items Still Show Seams

1. Open your inventory and look at a flat item such as a map, paper, or a tool icon. Zoom in by hovering so the tooltip renders.

2. If you see a hairline gap splitting the sprite, first rule out a resource pack. Packs that redraw item textures at non-standard resolutions are the most common cause.

3. Disable all resource packs and reload with F3+T to force a texture and model reload.

4. Check items held in your hand in first person, since the hand render path can differ from the inventory render path.

5. If only certain modded items show gaps, those items likely use a custom item model renderer that bypasses the vanilla quad generation the mod patches.

Remember the mod is client-side. Other players will not see your fix, and you will not see theirs. If a seam only appears on someone else's screen, that is expected.
