Mob Sunscreen Mod FAQ
6 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does the Mob Sunscreen Mod do?
It stops mobs from catching fire when daylight reaches them. It works on vanilla creatures and on mobs added by other mods.
Are mobs protected by default?
No, protection is opt in, so the game behaves exactly like vanilla until you add entries yourself. You list the mobs you want shielded in the config file.
How do you name a mob in the config file?
Mobs are named by their resource location in the form modid:mobname. This avoids clashes between mobs from different mods.
Can you protect every mob from a single mod without listing each one?
Yes, you can cover a whole mod at once by giving just its mod id instead of listing every creature. This works for creatures added by other mods.
What are some uses for this mod?
It can keep a zombie exhibit alive, let you run a mob arena in daylight, or make the overworld harsher by leaving skeletons out of the list.
Does the mod affect mobs from other mods?
Yes, any mob you list stops burning in sunlight, including mobs that come from other mods. You can also shield an entire mod at once using its mod id.
