How to Fix Plaques Not Appearing or Rendering Wrong

Check the Obvious First

If no plaques appear at all, confirm the mod is actually loaded by checking your mod list. Next, look at the config — there may be a master toggle or a enabled boolean that got turned off. Also check whether you are in a world where the mob has a name tag; Mob Plaques anchors to the name tag position, so mobs without name tags may still show plaques in most versions, but some configs tie visibility to name tag presence. Try spawning a fresh mob in a well-lit area and standing close to it.

Shader and Rendering Conflicts

The most common cause of missing or glitched plaques is a shader pack. BSL Shaders in particular is known to interfere with this mod. Disable your shader pack and reload the world. If plaques appear normally without shaders, the issue is the shader, not the mod. Check your shader's settings for entity name tag or overlay rendering options and try toggling them. If your shader pack has a compatibility mode, enable it.

Mod Conflicts and Config Corruption

Other mods that modify name tags, health bars, or entity rendering can conflict. Temporarily remove or disable health bar mods and name tag mods to test. If plaques return, you have found the conflict. Finally, if you edited the config file manually and plaques broke, delete the config file and let the mod regenerate it with defaults, then reapply your changes one at a time to find the bad setting.
