Mob Plaques Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get the health plaques to show up at all?
Plaques appear automatically above a mob's name tag once the mod is installed — there's nothing to craft or place. If you see nothing, check that the mod is actually loaded and that plaques haven't been disabled in the config.
How do I open the config for Mob Plaques?
The mod uses a config file you can edit through your mod menu's config button or by editing the config file directly in your config folder. Changes usually apply after saving, though some may need a game restart.
Why does the plaque only show health and not armor?
Armor points and armor toughness only appear when the mob actually has armor equipped or an armor value. A plain zombie with no armor won't show an armor row because there's nothing to display.
When does the air supply bubble show up?
The air supply display only appears when the mob is underwater and actively losing air. On land, or for mobs that don't drown, that row stays hidden.
Can I turn off plaques for just one type of mob?
Yes — the config lets you blacklist or filter specific mobs so their plaques never render. Add the mob to the exclusion list rather than disabling the mod globally.
How do I make the plaques bigger or smaller?
There's a scale option in the config that controls the overall size of the plaque display. Adjust it and reload to see the change; very large values can make plaques overlap the name tag.
Do the plaques work with shaders like BSL?
BSL Shaders are known to conflict with this mod and can cause plaques to render incorrectly or not at all. If you're using BSL, try disabling the shader pack or switching to a different one to confirm the cause.
Why are the plaques flickering or showing through blocks?
This is usually a rendering/depth issue, often triggered by shaders or certain graphics settings. Toggle your shader pack off first, then check the mod's render options in the config.
Will this mod hurt my FPS with lots of mobs?
Each plaque is a small render, so performance impact is normally minor, but large mob farms with hundreds of entities can add up. If you notice lag, reduce the render distance for plaques or limit which mobs show them.
Does Mob Plaques work on a server, or only singleplayer?
It's a client-side display mod, so it works in singleplayer and on servers without needing to be installed server-side. Other players won't see your plaques unless they also have the mod.
