Mob Effects VFX Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the auras when I get a potion effect?
The mod works automatically once installed—auras will appear around your character whenever you drink a potion or get a status effect. If you don't see them, check that your particle settings in Video Settings aren't set to Minimal, as this can hide the effects.
Why do some auras go up and others go down?
Beneficial effects like Speed, Strength, and Regeneration create auras that move upward to show they're helping you. Harmful effects like Poison, Slowness, and Weakness create auras that move downward to show they're hurting you.
Can I change the colors of the auras?
Yes, you can customize the color of auras for specific potion effects through the mod's configuration file or in-game settings menu. Each potion type can be assigned its own custom color to match your preference.
The auras are too fast or too slow—how do I adjust them?
You can adjust the speed and movement intensity of the auras in the mod's configuration settings. Look for speed or animation settings to make the effects move faster or slower to your liking.
Can I turn off auras for specific potions?
Yes, you can disable the visual effects for individual potion types in the configuration settings, so you'll only see auras for the effects you want.
Will other players see my auras on a multiplayer server?
No, the auras only appear on your own screen and don't affect other players or the server, so it's safe to use on any server.
My auras aren't showing up at all—what's wrong?
First, check that your particle settings aren't set to Minimal. If particles are enabled, verify the mod is installed correctly and try disabling other visual mods that might conflict. You can also check the configuration file to ensure auras aren't disabled for all effects.
Do the auras affect my game performance?
The mod is designed to have minimal performance impact since it only renders effects on your client. If you experience lag, you can reduce the number of particles or disable auras for certain effects in the settings.
Can I make the auras bigger or smaller?
You can adjust the size and scale of the auras through the mod's configuration settings to make them more or less prominent around your character.
Does this mod work with other visual or shader mods?
Yes, the mod is compatible with most visual mods and shaders since it only adds client-side particle effects. If you notice conflicts with a specific mod, try adjusting the particle settings or effect intensity in the configuration.
