Load a Custom Anime Model into Your Player Character

Preparing Your Model File

Before loading a model, ensure you have a PMX or PMD file ready. PMX files are the modern standard and support more features, while PMD files are older but still compatible. Place your model file in the mod's designated models folder (typically found in your Minecraft config or mods directory).

Loading the Model

1. Open the MmdSkin Mod configuration menu (usually accessible from the main menu or in-game settings)

2. Navigate to the model selection option

3. Browse to your PMX or PMD file and select it

4. Confirm the selection—the mod will parse the file and load it into memory

5. Your player character will immediately update to display the new model

Troubleshooting

If your model doesn't appear correctly, verify that:

  • The file format is actually PMX or PMD (check the file extension)
  • The model file isn't corrupted
  • Your graphics card supports the required rendering features
  • Textures referenced by the model are included in the same folder

Some complex models may take a few seconds to load. If the game freezes, your model file may be too detailed for your system.
