Understand Which Blocks Are Affected
Blocks That Change
Mizuno's Better Grass modifies the appearance of several terrain blocks by applying their top texture to all visible sides:
- Grass blocks (standard overworld grass)
- Mycelium (found in mushroom biomes)
- Podzol (found in taiga biomes)
- Dirt paths (created with shovels)
- Nylium variants (crimson and warped, found in the Nether)
What Stays the Same
Regular dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, and other soil blocks are not affected. Only blocks with a distinct top texture receive the enhancement.
Visual Impact by Block
Each affected block gains a cohesive appearance. Grass blocks no longer show brown dirt sides; mycelium displays its purple-gray texture uniformly; nylium maintains its vibrant Nether colors across all faces.
Biome-Specific Variants
The pack respects biome-specific grass colors. Jungle grass, savanna grass, and other variants all receive the same treatment while keeping their unique coloration, ensuring the pack works naturally across all biomes.
