Mizuno S Hat Variants Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make my first hat?
Place a carved pumpkin on an anvil, rename it to a hat style (like Farmer_Hat or Desert_Hat), and then place the renamed pumpkin on your head as you would any helmet. The pumpkin will display as your custom hat in first-person and third-person view.
What items do I need to create a hat?
You only need a carved pumpkin and access to an anvil. Rename the pumpkin to your chosen hat style, and it becomes wearable immediately—no crafting recipe required.
Do I need to rename the pumpkin exactly or does capitalization matter?
Hat names are case-sensitive, so you must match the exact capitalization shown in the available hat list (for example, Armorer_Hat, not armorer_hat). Double-check your spelling in the anvil before confirming.
Can I wear a hat and a helmet at the same time?
No—hats occupy the same head slot as helmets and other headwear, so you can only wear one at a time. You'll need to remove your helmet or armor to display your custom hat.
What happens if I rename a pumpkin to a hat name that doesn't exist?
The pumpkin will keep its default carved pumpkin appearance and won't transform into a custom hat. Make sure you're using one of the 20 supported hat style names from the available list.
Do hats work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, as long as all players have the resource pack installed, hats will display correctly in multiplayer. Other players will see your custom hat when you wear it.
Will this pack work with other resource packs?
It works best when loaded as your primary resource pack to avoid texture conflicts. If you use multiple packs, load Mizuno's Hat Variants higher in your pack order so its textures take priority.
Can I get a hat back if I accidentally throw it away?
Yes—simply get another carved pumpkin, rename it on an anvil with the same hat name, and place it on your head again. Hats are easy to recreate since you only need a pumpkin and an anvil.
Do hats affect my gameplay or give me any advantages?
Hats are purely cosmetic and don't provide any armor protection, stat bonuses, or gameplay effects. They're only for visual customization.
What Minecraft versions does this pack support?
This pack works with vanilla Minecraft and doesn't require mods, so it's compatible with any version that supports resource packs. Check the pack's download page for the specific versions it's been tested on.
