How to Burn Cobwebs in Minecraft With Misc Tweaks
Cobwebs are normally one of the few blocks that fire completely ignores, which makes abandoned mineshafts and stronghold corridors a slog. Misc Tweaks makes cobwebs flammable, so you can clear them with fire instead of shears or swords.
Setting Cobwebs on Fire
Any normal fire source works:
- Use a flint and steel directly on the cobweb.
- Place a fire charge against it.
- Let flowing lava touch the cobweb.
- Spread fire from an adjacent flammable block.
Once lit, the cobweb burns away like wool or leaves would. This is by far the fastest way to clear long mineshaft corridors, since one fire can chain across a connected stretch of webs.
Things to Watch Out For
Fire spreads to other flammable blocks nearby. In mineshafts this usually means the wooden support beams and fences, which can cause cave-ins of falling gravel or just make the area harder to navigate. If you want to keep the structure intact, light webs individually and stand back.
Burning cobwebs also drop nothing, so if you need string for wool, bows, or leads, use shears or a sword instead. The tweak is for clearing, not for farming. In the Nether, cobwebs don't generate naturally, so this is mostly a Overworld mineshaft and stronghold quality-of-life change.
