How do I configure Misc Tweaks?
Most features are toggled through the mod's config file, which is generated in your config folder on first launch. Open it with any text editor, change the true/false values or tag entries, and restart the game or reload the server for changes to apply.
Does Misc Tweaks need to be installed on both client and server?
No. Many tweaks are server-side only, so a vanilla client can join a server running the mod. Client-side features like the lowered offhand shield visual and the Elytra water-swim behavior need the mod installed on your own client to see the effect.
Why aren't creeper explosions dropping all the destroyed items?
Check that the creeper item-drop tweak is enabled in the config; it may be off by default depending on your setup. If it's on and items still vanish, another mod is likely overriding explosion drop behavior.
How do I make creeper music discs appear in loot chests?
This feature is disabled by default, so you need to turn it on in the config file. Once enabled, discs that would normally only drop from a creeper killed by a skeleton can also generate in loot chests.
How do I add my modded shield to the offhand lowering tweak?
The mod reads a config list of shields that should be visually lowered while staying functional. Add your modded shield's registry name to that list and reload the config.
How do I change which blocks mine faster with the obsidian tweak?
The faster-mining behavior is driven by block tags, so you add or remove blocks from the relevant tag rather than editing a hardcoded list. Use a datapack or the mod's tag file to customize which obsidian-like blocks get the speed boost.
Does the cobweb burning tweak work with fire from flint and steel?
Yes, cobwebs can be ignited by normal fire sources like flint and steel or lava and will burn away. Make sure the tweak is enabled in the config, since it can be toggled off.
Why does my armor still take damage from Thorns and Soul Speed?
Confirm the armor-protection tweak is enabled in the config, as it can be disabled. If it's on and armor still wears down, another mod that changes enchantment durability behavior is probably conflicting.
Will Misc Tweaks conflict with other performance or QoL mods?
It's designed to be lightweight and generally plays well with others, but mods that also change explosions, enchantment durability, or shield rendering can overlap. If a tweak seems to do nothing, test with only Misc Tweaks enabled to isolate the conflict.
Does Misc Tweaks hurt server performance?
The tweaks are small logic changes rather than heavy systems, so performance impact is minimal. The main thing to watch is the creeper item-drop feature on servers with frequent explosions, since dropping more items adds entity load.
