How to Turn Dark Mode On and Off In-Game in Mindful Darkness

You do not need to restart Minecraft or dig through config files to switch the dark theme on or off. Mindful Darkness is built around a quick in-game toggle so you can flip the look of your menus whenever you want.

Using the Toggle

1. Open any screen where you would normally see the mod's controls, such as the mod list or the Mindful Darkness config screen.

2. Look for the main enable/disable option. It is usually the first switch at the top of the mod's settings.

3. Click it to turn the dark mode on or off. The change applies immediately to your open GUIs, so you can watch menus darken or brighten as you toggle.

4. If you want a faster route, check your key bindings menu for a Mindful Darkness hotkey and assign one you can reach easily.

What to Expect

When enabled, the mod overlays a dark tint on GUI backgrounds without replacing any textures, so vanilla and modded menus both get darkened. When disabled, everything returns to its original brightness. If a particular screen looks wrong after toggling, close and reopen it to force a redraw.
