How to Adjust Darkness Intensity and Pick a Darkening Algorithm

Once dark mode is on, the two settings that change how it looks most are the darkness intensity and the algorithm used to darken textures. Tuning these lets you go from a subtle dim to a near-black interface.

Changing Intensity

1. Open the Mindful Darkness config screen from the mod list.

2. Find the intensity (darkness strength) slider or numeric option.

3. Drag it toward the low end for a gentle tint, or toward the high end for a much darker result.

4. Apply or save, then reopen a menu to preview the change.

Choosing an Algorithm

Mindful Darkness offers more than one darkening algorithm, and each produces a different look. Some preserve more of the original color and contrast, while others push everything toward flat dark tones. Cycle through the available options and preview each one on a busy menu, like your inventory or a mod's config screen, since those have the most colors to judge.

If text becomes hard to read, lower the intensity or switch algorithms rather than disabling the mod entirely. The right combination depends on your resource pack and monitor, so experiment until menus are comfortable without losing legibility.
