Milk All The Mobs Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I milk a sheep or pig in Milk All The Mobs?
Right-click the animal with an empty bucket in hand, just like you would with a cow. The bucket fills with milk and the animal plays its normal milking sound. No special tool or taming step is needed.
Can I milk llamas, horses, donkeys, and mules too?
Yes, all of them can be milked with an empty bucket. Llamas work even while carrying a chest, and horses, donkeys, and mules can be milked whether or not they are tamed or saddled.
Do I need to feed the animal or wait for a cooldown before milking again?
There is no feeding requirement, but each animal has a short cooldown after being milked before it can be milked again. Just wait a moment and right-click with another empty bucket.
Why isn't my bucket filling when I right-click an animal?
Make sure you are holding an empty bucket, not a milk bucket or another item, and that you are close enough to the animal. If the animal was just milked, wait out the short cooldown before trying again.
Does the milk from these animals work the same as cow milk?
Yes, the resulting milk bucket behaves like vanilla milk for drinking and for clearing status effects. It can also be used anywhere a milk bucket is accepted, such as in cooking or brewing recipes that call for milk.
Can I use this milk in modded cooking or brewing recipes?
Any recipe that accepts a standard milk bucket will accept milk from these animals, since the item produced is the normal milk bucket. This includes modded recipes that use milk as an ingredient or fluid.
Do baby animals give milk?
Baby animals cannot be milked; only fully grown adults produce milk. Wait for the animal to mature before trying to fill a bucket from it.
Is this mod compatible with other mods that add animals or change milking?
It works alongside most mods because it simply extends milking to additional vanilla animal types. Conflicts are rare, but if another mod overrides milking behavior for the same animals, one may take priority.
Will milking lots of animals hurt my game's performance?
No, the mod only adds a small interaction check when you right-click an animal, so it has negligible impact on performance. Large milk farms run fine as long as the animals themselves are not causing lag.
Can I automate milking with dispensers or machines?
The mod does not add dispenser-based milking; milking is a player interaction done by right-clicking with a bucket. For bulk milk, build a farm and milk the animals manually or use another mod's automation if it supports it.
