Create a Gallery or Art Display
Planning Your Gallery Layout
Choose a dedicated wall or room for displaying multiple paintings. Medieval galleries work well in castle wings, tavern back rooms, or grand halls. Sketch out your layout first—decide whether you want a grid pattern, a scattered arrangement, or paintings of varying sizes clustered together.
Spacing and Arrangement
Leave 1–2 block gaps between paintings for visual breathing room, or place them edge-to-edge for a dense, tapestry-like effect. Mix painting sizes to create dynamic compositions: alternate large centerpieces with smaller surrounding pieces. Use frames made from wood, stone, or decorative blocks to border paintings and make them stand out.
Lighting and Atmosphere
Add torches, lanterns, or other light sources near your gallery to highlight the artwork and create ambiance. In dungeons, use dim lighting for a mysterious feel. In castles, bright lighting emphasizes grandeur. Consider the surrounding block palette—stone and wood complement medieval paintings best. Step back frequently to assess the overall composition and adjust spacing or selections as needed.
