Finding the Stronghold with the Mechanical Eye

Locating Your Stronghold

The Mechanical Eye functions identically to the standard Eye of Ender—it still guides you to the nearest stronghold. Craft or obtain the Mechanical Eye just as you would a regular Eye of Ender.

Using the Eye to Navigate

1. Throw the eye by right-clicking while holding it

2. Follow its path as it flies through the air toward the stronghold

3. Watch where it lands and retrieve it (it will drop as an item)

4. Repeat the process multiple times, moving closer each time

5. Dig downward when the eye goes underground—the stronghold is nearby

Tips for Success

The Mechanical Eye travels in a straight line toward the stronghold, so follow its trajectory carefully. In mountainous terrain, you may need to dig through blocks to keep up. The eye will eventually lead you to the End Portal frame room. Keep several eyes on hand, as they can be lost if you're not careful during retrieval. The robotic appearance doesn't change the mechanic—only the visual presentation—so your navigation strategy remains the same as with vanilla Eyes of Ender.
