Mechanical Eye Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything special to start using the Mechanical Eye?
No—the resource pack automatically replaces the Eye of Ender once installed. Craft or find Eyes of Ender normally, and they'll appear as Mechanical Eyes in your inventory and when thrown.
Why does my Eye of Ender look normal instead of like the Mechanical Eye?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled in your resource pack menu and ranked above any conflicting packs. If you're using other eye-related packs, move the Mechanical Eye pack higher in the load order.
Does the Mechanical Eye work the same way as a regular Eye of Ender?
Yes—it flies toward the nearest stronghold and behaves identically to the vanilla Eye. The Mechanical Eye is purely visual and doesn't change how the item functions.
What happens when I place the Mechanical Eye in an End Portal frame?
The frame changes appearance to match the robotic style, and the eye animates when placed. Once all frames are filled, the portal activates normally.
Can I see the animation on the Mechanical Eyes in the portal?
Yes—the eyes animate when placed inside the frames, giving them a moving, mechanical appearance as part of the visual upgrade.
Does this pack change anything in the End dimension itself?
No—the Mechanical Eye pack only changes the appearance of Eyes of Ender items and End Portal frames. The End dimension itself remains unchanged.
Will this resource pack work with shader mods?
Yes, the pack should work with most shader mods since it only replaces textures. If you experience visual glitches, try adjusting shader settings or testing without the shader to isolate the issue.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes—place the Mechanical Eye pack higher in your resource pack list than any other packs that modify Eyes of Ender or portal frames to ensure it takes priority.
Do I need a specific Minecraft version for this pack?
Check the pack's description for its compatible versions. Resource packs are generally version-specific, so make sure you're using the correct version for your game.
Is there a performance impact from using this resource pack?
No—resource packs have minimal performance impact since they only change textures and animations. You should see no FPS difference compared to vanilla.
