How to Configure MAtmos Ambient Sounds (Volume, Packs, and Toggles)
MAtmos runs its own sound engine on top of vanilla audio, so tuning it means using its own controls rather than the normal Minecraft sound sliders. Open the MAtmos configuration screen (usually bound to a hotkey you can set in the controls menu, or reachable from the mod list config button) to reach the main options.
Adjusting the sound layers
Inside the config you will find separate volume controls for the different ambient layers MAtmos plays — things like wind, foliage, water, cave ambience, and creature sounds. Lower the ones that annoy you and keep the ones you like. There is also a master MAtmos volume, so if you want the mod present but subtle, drop that first before touching individual layers.
Loading and switching sound packs
MAtmos plays its audio from a resource pack-style sound pack. In the config you can see which pack is currently loaded and switch between installed packs. If a pack sounds wrong or silent, reselect it so the engine reloads its sound list. Some packs are tuned for specific environments, so try a different one if the biome you are in feels empty.
Toggling the engine
If you want silence for a recording or a build session, disable the MAtmos engine entirely from the config instead of muting your whole game. Re-enable it later and it will resume reacting to your surroundings.
