Enable Ray-Traced Shadows in Your World
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu from your video settings. Look for the ray-tracing or lighting section—this is where shadow quality and behavior are controlled.
Configure Shadow Parameters
Locate the shadow distance and softness sliders. Increasing shadow distance makes shadows cast farther from objects like trees and structures. The softness value controls how blurred or sharp shadow edges appear—higher values create more natural, diffuse shadows under dense foliage.
Test in Different Lighting
Load your world and observe shadows during different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon provide the best visibility for testing shadow behavior. Walk under trees, around buildings, and near terrain features to see how shadows respond to geometry.
Fine-Tune for Performance
If shadows cause lag, reduce the shadow distance or lower the resolution of shadow calculations. Start with moderate settings and increase quality incrementally until you find a balance between visual fidelity and frame rate.
Shadows should now cast realistically across your landscape, responding to the sun's position and the shapes of nearby blocks.
