Mahi’s X-Ray Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the X-Ray effect after loading the pack?
The X-Ray effect is active as soon as you load the resource pack in your world or server. Go to Options > Resource Packs, find Mahi's X-Ray in the Available list, and move it to Active. You'll see terrain become transparent outlines immediately.
Why can't I see ores glowing in the dark?
Ore glow is built-in for version 1.21.2 and newer. If you're on an older version, you'll need to load a separate Fullbright add-on alongside this pack to make ores glow. Check that your game version matches the pack's requirements.
Does this mod work with Optifine or other shader packs?
Yes, this resource pack stacks on top of other packs and mods without conflict. Load it after your shader or cosmetic pack in your resource pack list, and both will work together.
Can I use this on a multiplayer server?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so servers won't block it. Load it like any other resource pack and you'll see the X-Ray effect on any server you join.
What blocks become see-through?
Stone, deepslate, dirt, and similar solid terrain blocks turn into thin wire outlines so you can spot ores, ancient debris, and chests hidden inside them. Your normal textures remain visible on top.
Does X-Ray work in the Nether and End?
Yes, the pack works everywhere. Deepslate and netherrack become transparent so you can hunt for ancient debris in the Nether and spot caves or loot in any dimension.
Will this hurt my FPS?
Resource packs have minimal performance impact. If you experience lag, it's likely from other mods or settings, not this pack. Try lowering your render distance or graphics settings if needed.
Can I customize which blocks are see-through?
This pack comes as-is without built-in customization options. If you want to modify which blocks are transparent, you'd need to edit the texture files yourself or create a custom variant.
Does this work on old versions like 1.12 or 1.8?
No, this pack is designed for modern Minecraft versions. Check the pack's version compatibility to ensure it matches your game version before loading it.
Why do I still see some blocks as solid even with X-Ray on?
The pack only makes certain terrain blocks transparent (stone, dirt, deepslate, etc.). Bedrock, obsidian, and other special blocks remain solid by design. This is intentional to keep the game playable.
