How to Make Ctrl+Q Drop a Full Stack Instead of One Item on Mac
On Windows and Linux, Control+Q drops the entire stack you are holding. On macOS, the same keybind often drops only a single item because the Control modifier is not detected with the Q keypress. The MacOS Input Fixes Mod restores the expected behavior so Control+Q drops the whole stack.
Confirming the fix
1. Load into a world with the mod active.
2. Select a stack in your hotbar and hold Control, then press Q.
3. The entire stack should drop as one item entity rather than a single unit.
4. Release Control and press Q alone to confirm a single item still drops normally.
If it still drops one item
- Check Options → Controls and make sure the Drop key is still bound to Q and not remapped.
- Verify no other mod overrides the drop key or the Control modifier.
- Look at macOS System Settings → Keyboard → Modifier Keys and ensure Control is not swapped with another key.
- Restart Minecraft after any keybind change, since modifier handling is initialized at launch.
Related modifier shortcuts
With Control detection fixed, other Control-based shortcuts in inventories and crafting also behave correctly, so you can rely on the same muscle memory you use on other platforms.
