How to Fix Shift+Scroll and Ctrl+Tab / Ctrl+Esc Not Registering on Mac
macOS sometimes fails to deliver certain key combinations to Minecraft, so Control+Tab and Control+Esc do nothing, and Shift+scroll can behave erratically. The MacOS Input Fixes Mod improves precise input detection so these combinations reach the game, and it handles scrolling only when fingers are on the trackpad or a supported mouse is in use.
Getting the key combos to register
1. Confirm the mod is loaded and restart the game so input hooks initialize.
2. In Options → Controls, check that the actions you want (for example, any Control+Tab or Control+Esc binding) are assigned and not conflicting.
3. Test each combination in-game. Control+Tab and Control+Esc should now trigger their intended actions instead of being ignored by the OS.
Fixing Shift+scroll
1. Hold Shift and scroll on your trackpad or mouse.
2. The mod ensures scroll events are only counted while input is genuinely active, so Shift+scroll no longer fires a flood of events.
3. If it still misbehaves, lower scroll sensitivity in Mouse Settings and disable trackpad inertia in macOS settings.
Troubleshooting
- Remove other input mods that might intercept the same keys.
- Reset macOS modifier keys to default.
- Rebind the action to a different key temporarily to isolate whether the issue is the combination or the binding itself.
